Well our Hat Club 2022 will begin tomorrow, Wednesday 8th June.
I apologize for the late email with all the details, but as most of you know,
life has been a bit crazy of late with my Mom!
Our Hat Club begins with the basics - how to make a hat in any weight, for any size without a pattern - EASY!
The June Hat Club will meet on
Wednesday, 8th June (tomorrow) from 1-4 pm
Saturday, 18th June from 10 am - 1 pm
and Wednesday, 22nd June from 1-4 pm.
You only need to attend one of the sessions, but you are most welcome to join as many as you would like.

All of the sessions above (during the day) will be in person and via Zoom.
Some of you have asked that we also have an evening session so we will give it a try
Wednesday, 8th June (tomorrow) from 6-9 pm - but Zoom only!

For the Hat session you will need,
1.  Yarn to make your hat - any weight you choose
2. Needles suitable for the weight of yarn,
plus a set of needles 2 sizes smaller
(i.e., US 8 and US 6)
3.  Gauge Swatch - see directions on swatching below.
4.  Calculator
5. Pencil and paper.

Gauge Swatch 
For your swatch, check the ball band of your yarn.
If the band says 22 stitches to 4 inches - you will cast on at least 30 stitches.
The first 5 rows will be all knit - garter stitch.
for the rest of the swatch, you will keep a 3 stitch border of garter stitch on both ends,
with stockinette in between the garter borders.  
The idea is to frame your swatch so you get a true measurement.

your worksheet/handout for the hat session will be emailed out to you prior to the meeting.
