Sweater Club and quick visit to the Hospital

My apologies to the Sweater Club for having to cancel our last set of Thursday Sessions so abruptly.  I had an unexpected trip to my Doctor and then on to the hospital for a non-COVID related cardiac issue.  I am doing great and am back in the shop working and I have both visual ad profession affirmation that I do in fact have a heart!  To further assure everyone, I was only in the hospital overnight, isolated, and I did have a COVID test last week which was negative, so I have been cleared to keep going.  I need to thank Richard and my brother, Michael for taking such great care of me (and Mom) during the last two weeks, but no rest for the "wicked".   Also, a big thank you to the team for keeping everything moving toward our eventual opening!

Our next scheduled Sweater Club is
Thursday, 11th June from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm
or
Saturday, 13th June from 1-4 pm

Zoom details will be out just prior to the meetings.

We will be unveiling the next sweaters at that time along with Yarn suggestions.
If you are interested in joining the Sweater Club, just email or call.
We will have all the details on our Website shortly.

So next Steps toward New Normal

We are working on the shop to make it as safe and secure as possible for those who will want to come in for an in person shopping trip.  The shop will continue to be professionally cleaned and sanitized from top to bottom.  Once we open, we will be offering both appointment shopping and help sessions for those seeking a limited setting.  We will also continue with our virtual shopping and web-site shop combined with both USPS shipping and curb-side pick-up.

We have been developing a studio for our on-line help sessions and
new series of classes in Knitting, Crochet, Weaving and Spinning.
We will be unveiling this over the next several weeks so stay tuned.

We are also bringing back our Nantucket Basket weaving classes
and have a new space set up for this so we can leave enough distance.
Dates to be announced next week and supplies will be available for anyone
looking to continue making their baskets from previous classes with us or elsewhere.

And Finally our Mask Project and next steps to help
We are well over the 4,000 mask made for donations to a variety of places from health care centers, nursing homes and assisted living communities, homeless shelters, residential schools and even to the Navajo Nation project.  And all of that is in addition to those made for all our families, friends and neighbors.  This is what "crafty people" do - we reach out and support whatever need we see.  And we keep looking.  With the economic downturn and unemployment, we know that there will be a major need this fall and winter for warm clothing - hats, mittens, socks, scarves, you name it.
We will be setting up a donation project for these items including providing patterns and yarn in the event your "stash has been busted" during this time.  A separate email will be out shortly to provide more details on this new project.

Until then, we are still taking masks and ear savers for donation as the need continues for both.
We still have supplies - fabric, elastic, loops, and buttons in the event you need them to continuing donating to our project.  Just let us know.

We will also be selling mask kits for those of you who may not have been comfortable making them on a large scale for donation.  These will include the fabric, elastic, and pattern and a portion the proceeds will go toward all our donation projects.  These will be on our website shortly.

I think that is enough for now.  Thank you all for your good wishes and positive thoughts.
Believe it or not, I am actually meeting with our favorite reps on Fall.  Previews to come!

Stay Healthy and Stay Safe.

Thank you to my family which includes an amazing "gang" of talented people without whom
this shop would not exist.  Teresa
