Annual Fall Retreat 2019
It is that time again - the Announcement for our Annual Fall Retreat This email is only going out to our Frequent Travelers who will have the first opportunity to reserve a spot. You will have until Sunday, 30th June to place your deposit. On Monday 1st July, reservations will be open to everyone so don't miss out! |
As in the past, we will be traveling to the beautiful Harraseeket Inn, in Freeport, Maine. The dates for the weekend are Friday through Sunday, the 1st - 3rd November 2019. |
Our Amazing Guests Due to the ever growing size of our retreat, we have a slight change to our program this year. We will be having two instructors enabling us to have smaller class groups. But, you don't have to choose. Everyone will have the chance to work with these two amazing designers and teachers. We will explain, but first, who are they? |
Olga Buraya-Kefelian, or as you probably know her best - Olgajazzy! While her Aranami Shawl is probably the most recognizable of her creations, she has been designing amazing shawls, sweaters, cowls, you name it for some of the most beautiful yarn lines out there. She is noted for her amazing attention to detail and construction, especially 3D knitwear, colorwork, modular knitting and so much more. |
Lori Versaci is one of our absolute favorites and we are so happy she can join us once again. Lori and Olga have taught together a number of times and we are lucky to have them both. Most of you have met Lori either at our Shop or at a previous Retreat, but she is always finding new ways to create amazing knitwear. We love all the things she has done with Sequence knitting and can't wait to see what she has in store for us this time. |
The Yarns And if that isn't enough to entice you, all of your class projects will be done using either Shibui or Woolfolk yarns. Both of our instructors have designed for these yarn companies and a quick scroll through Ravelry will give you an idea of what they have done with these luxurious yarns. As always, your project yarns will be provided to you as part of the retreat, but you will also have the opportunity to purchase/order any of the Shibui or Woolfolk yarns at a 20% discount. Further, the designers, Shibui and Woolfolk will be providing us with an extensive Trunk Show so get your walk and pose ready for a super Fashion Show! |
Classes While we are still working on the details for all the classes and projects for the retreat, our plan is to split the group in half on Saturday so in the morning half will be with Lori and half with Olga and then after lunch we will switch. On Sunday, the class will work together on the same technique but some with Olga (a slightly more challenging project) and some with Lori (a bit simple). More details to come on the classes and techniques, but we are working to ensure that all levels will have a great learning experience. |
The Cost We have consistently tried to keep the cost of our retreat down and typically less than lots of others, but prices have gone up and we do need to adjust once again. This year we have three options for you to join us: Double occupancy - $900 per person Single occupancy - $1,075 per person **Townhouse - $1,050 per person **Now before you get all excited, we only have 2 Townhouses available which will sleep 4 people. We have had requests for the ability to have more than 2 in a room, so here is what we have. The Townhouses will be allotted on a first come basis, but must be done with by phone to the shop. One person may only reserve one townhouse. What is included: Transportation to and from the Retreat from Woburn Two nights accommodation at the Inn Meals included are Friday lunch and dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch and Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
